The Adam Carolla Podcast

Contributed by Jon Smokowicz. Up until a few months ago Adam Carolla, former co-host of “The Man Show” and “LoveLine,” had been doing an early morning radio talk show on the west coast. As you may or may not know there is a recession going on in this country. Apparently, celebrities are not immune to [...]

Watchmen – Previewing The Film

Contributed by Jon Smokowicz. This is the second of a two part piece, this part focusing on this week’s release of the film. The act of crafting the tale of Watchmen for the big screen fell to Zack Snyder, a jubilant and promising filmmaker, after passing through the hands of many others including Darren Aronofsky [...]

Final Fantasy IV DS: Second Thoughts
( DS ->Games ->Opinion ->Reviews )

A couple months ago, Sherv went over the newly released Final Fantasy IV remake for DS and discussed some of the differences and what he liked and disliked about it. Well, I could have just as easily left a reply in that post detailing my experience with the game, but instead I had a few [...]

10 Problems With Mario Kart

I’m sure we all know the Mario Kart series by now. It’s considered to have some of the most entertaining multiplayer experiences we could ever have. And when the DS incarnation took the series online, it seemed unstoppable and even more addictive beyond belief. But there was always something that bugged me. The games were [...]

Pinball Wizards Convention

I’m not going to sit here and claim that I’m the most educated or informed person on pinball games, but I’ve loved playing them since I was old enough to see the playing field. Twelve Things That Would Make Ghosts ‘N Goblins Worse (Guest Article)

Contributed by Daniel Brown. Ghosts ‘N Goblins for the NES gets a lot of bad press – reviewers trash it, and it is commonly cited as a game made far too difficult to be enjoyable. As this is one my favorite games of all time, and one I have spend hours upon hours getting to know better, I feel it is my responsibility to defend its honor the best I can. Yes, it’s got issues. The framerate is pretty choppy, you can’t change the direction of your jump mid-air, and you can’t shoot very many of your weapon at a time. Beating this game is very rewarding – it really gives you a sense of accomplishment. But, in order to do that, you’ve got to put up with many hours of pain. My feelings on it are best summed up: it’s my favorite abusive girlfriend. And I’m sick of people talking smack about her.
