Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

The Star Wars franchise has a history of some of the most exciting and high-profile games. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, of course, follows this pattern. Being announced for every system available and promising an awesome new physics engine (for the 360 and PS3), the hype for The Force Unleashed was off the charts. Does [...]

Ninja Gaiden II
( Reviews -> Games -> Xbox 360 )

Ninja Gaiden started out on consoles on the NES as a game requiring skill, reflexes, memorization, and most of all, patience. While it could be very unforgiving at some points (flying birds anyone?), the game was always balanced and fair enough that the end of each level was never quite out of reach. Ninja Gaiden [...]

Castle Crashers
( Reviews -> Games -> Xbox 360 )

In 2004, a little development team by the name of The Behemoth released a little flash game called Alien Hominid. Eventually it was made into a full fledged game and released on GameCube and PS2. Featuring cartoon styled 2D graphics and classic run-n-gun game play, The Behemoth created a gem of nostalgia and humor.
Here we [...]

BioShock
( Reviews -> Games -> Xbox 360 )

This is part one in a series for G-E. I will go over the games that I had on my Top 07 Games of ‘07 list. Because four of the games I listed already have posts, I will be going over the three without, namely Rock Band, Mass Effect, and today’s item, BioShock. I have never had a chance to play System Shock, System Shock II or Deus Ex or any of those legendary PC FPS games that would make BioShock a “less new” experience. I am coming from a history of console gaming and light console FPS gaming (Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Halo.) And now, without further ado, here is my review of BioShock.

Skate
( Reviews -> Games -> Xbox 360 )

The history of skateboarding video games is nearly as old as video games themselves. In the 1980’s, skateboarding and videogames were gaining popularity in parallel. At the time gaming was in its technical infancy, and skateboarding was not nearly as advanced as it is today. Games like 720 Skateboarding, Skate or Die, California Games, and [...]

Halo 3
( Reviews -> Games -> Xbox 360 )

Let me just get things straight here:
I played about 5 minutes of the original Halo, and I wasn’t too enthralled. My first experience with Halo 2 was in a commandeered classroom playing on a projection screen. It was cool but I sucked and I didn’t see what the big deal was. I played online at [...]

Guitar Hero III - Legends of Rock
( Reviews -> Games -> Xbox 360 )

Note: This review is only of the XBox 360 version of Guitar Hero III. Some slight changes may exist with the other platforms/guitar models, but overall the game should look and play the same.
The Guitar Hero brand has been on a strange path of success ever since the first game made a silent but [...]

All-Pro Football 2K8
( Reviews -> Games -> Xbox 360 )

You know, I’ve owned every 2K football game since, well, NFL2K, but I hate to say that I’m very disappointed in APF2K8.
Maybe I need some time to get over the loss of the NFL license, but I don’t think that’s the big part. I don’t see this as a game where you can just invite [...]
