About

Good-Evil was founded in March 2003 by Andrew Raub, Kirk Bray, and Zach Patterson. At the time it was created to be a center hub to our respective websites, since we were tired of free sites that offered almost no storage space. Over time, the main site began to grow and we eventually added content to it. Soon after deciding to review things, we created a scale and decided that reviews would be regarded in a less formal sense, as if you were telling your friends whether you would recommend the item in question. Since then, the site has been home to hundreds of reviews and a dozen different writers, all with their own spin on the good-evil ideals.

The main site has gone through 3 major revisions, and one minor one. From the end of 2003 through August 2005, the site was updated weekly with game, music, movie, and miscellaneous reviews by a variety of writers known both personally and through “hirings”. Aside from an October 2005 newsletter-type update, the site went inactive for the next year and a half in order to focus on other projects, but essentially to just take a break from the responsibilities the site entailed. The site’s code was in poor shape and updates were done by one person usually (that would be me, and sometimes Andrew). This put a lot of work on one person, so we began to look for a better system to use for reviewing that would allow each writer to post their own material whenever they wanted. About a year later, we decided on Wordpress, and after some code changes, we finally brought the site back in January 2007.

At the height of popularity in 2005, the site received roughly 200,000 hits during a month on two occasions. Our reviews have been linked to on game ranking sites as well as some band websites. We are heavily linked to both TheShizz community and TheTestTube community.
