I recently picked up a copy of the first one on PSone and thought it was kind of boring. Granted I didn't play it years ago when it first came out but I thought the stages kind of lacked variety and that it got old fast, though the take on perspective was cool. Never played the GBA iteration but if it takes things in a different direction that might not be such a bad thing. Wahoo! Klonoa 2 was my first time ever playing the series and it was really good.
